The metal-poor dwarf irregular galaxy candidate next to Mrk 1172

ABSTRACT In this work, we characterize the properties of object SDSS J020536.84?081424.7, an extended nebular region with projected extension 14 × kpc2 in line sight ETG Mrk 1172, using unprecedented spectroscopic data from MUSE. We perform a spatially resolved stellar population synthesis and estimate mass for both 1172 (1 1011 M?) our study (3 109 M?). While content is dominated by old (?10 Gyr) population, emission has its light young to intermediate age populations (from ?100 Myr ?1 presents strong lines such as H ?; [O iii] ??4959, 5007 Å; ?; [N ii] ??6549, 6585 [S ??6717, 6732 Å. Using these lines, find that it metal poor (with Z ? 1/3 Z?, comparable LMC) actively forming stars (0.70 M? yr?1), especially few bright clumpy knots are readily visible ?. The ionized gas ?3.8 105 M?. Moreover, motion well described circular orbit plane disc being affected interaction wtih 1172. conclude J020536.84?081424.7 most likely dwarf irregular galaxy (the dIGal).
